MINISTRIES AND MISSIONS In Matthew 28 it is written..."go and teach all nations." Westlawn strongly supports all missionaries at home and abroad. Not only are missionaries supported by financial means, but also by prayer and continued education to those inside the church. We also participate in mission projects in our own neighborhood by meeting people's needs through our food pantry, school supplies, etc. Memebers of all ages have opportunities to participate in missions. WOMAN'S MISSIONARY UNION (WMU) MISSION FRIENDS - for children ages 3-5, teaching them about missionaries, what they do and how they live. GIRL'S IN ACTION - an organization for girls ages 5-12. These girls are taught Christian fundamentals, crafts, and missions. They are involved in several mission projects each year. ACTEENS - is for young girls' ages 12-19. They are taught how to cope in today's world and how to reach out to other for Christ. WOMEN ON MISSIONS - The "Women of Westlawn" is an organization for women of all ages that teaches, prays for, and do missions. MEN'S MINISTRIES ROYAL AMBASSADORS - is a Christian organization for boys ages 5-12, that aims to teach and reach boys for Christ and also a time set aside for fun and fellowship. CHALLENGERS - an organization for young men ages 12-19. They are taught how to live a missions lifestyle, Christian values, and church leadership. BROTHERHOOD - is for men of all ages. They teach missions, are involved in mission work, and they pray for missionaries. AUTUMN LEAVES The senior adults at Westlawn believe in staying active in church ministry. They visit home-bound members, make phone calls, and participate in missions through the nursing home ministry. The Autum Leaves members go on a yearly retreat to The Smokie Mountains for a time to inspiration. They also have times of fellowship and fun at Westlawn. |
